For little more than the cost of a typical gym membership, you could be enjoying the peace of mind that comes from having private medical insurance.

How does private health
insurance work?

Private health insurance provides cover for private medical care. It can often remove long waiting times for those needing treatment, providing peace of mind without putting your life on hold.

Typically you will pay a monthly or yearly premium with your chosen insurer and this fee will be based on a variety of different information about you such as age, location, how comprehensive your chosen plan is, your lifestyle and your medical history. Generally speaking, the more cover you add to your policy, the more expensive it will become.

Will private health insurance cover weight loss surgery?

For as little as £44 a month, depending on your age, postcode, and cover requirements, one of the insurers we work with can provide you with a 75% contribution towards the treatment package for ‘Gastric Band’, ‘Gastric Bypass’ or ‘Gastric Sleeve’ surgery within the UK, alongside a 24-month aftercare package.

To find out more call us on 0800 313 4944 or complete the quote request form on the website.

What weight loss surgery could be covered?

The treatment package provided will include your initial consultation, all necessary tests, hospital fees, surgeon & anesthetist, and clinically necessary follow-ups. The procedure is likely to take place in a private hospital in London.

You would be required to pay 25% of the treatment package costs, the insurer would pay the remainder.

During your initial consultation, your surgeon will discuss your personal circumstances and will provide you with details of what you can expect from the surgery, and will recommend the best procedure for you based on your lifestyle and previous medical history.

The procedures that could be offered are:

  • Gastric Band Surgery
  • Gastric Bypass Surgery
  • Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery
  • Gastric Sleeve Surgery
