Barbara's Review (73)

I found out a switch was possible, and it didn’t have to mean having higher premiums. Having an Account Manager to go through this is helpful

The Problem

Barbara took out a policy with us back in 2016. When she first approached us, it was with a simple challenge: she wanted to reduce her premiums without changing her cover or losing cover for existing medical conditions.

The Solution

Many people have the same query. By working through your medical history, and understanding what your needs are, we can explore what cover’s available. We won’t recommend switching unless it’s the right thing to do. For Barbara, this meant carrying over her conditions without any exclusions. Barbara switched to a new insurer – and managed to reduce her premium by 5%.

Since that switch, Barbara has been supported by her personal Account Manager, Aidan, who takes care of renewals every year. Working through the policy to make sure there aren’t any benefit changes, and making sure that Barbara’s interim medical history is all accounted for. Recently, Aidan recommended removing cover for therapies – it wasn’t needed, and it was putting up the excess – which brought down Barabara’s premiums by 13%.

Our consultant's summary

"Barbara had lots of questions about her plan. It's so good to hear people finding out about their cover. I’m always happy to answer people’s queries, and to talk through each part of a plan in detail."
